Taiwan, Malaysia Showcase Latest MedTech

Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade, Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Kuala Lumpur Taiwan Trade Centre organised an online showcase “Smart Medical”. The highlights include: National Taiwan University Hospital introduced its dynamic image telemedicine service (e.g. real-time sonography and ophthalmic operations), Chang Gung Memorial Hospital showcased that proton therapy can accurately treat cancer lesions in a 360° angle while minimising effects on normal healthy tissues, and Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital introduced their latest heart surgery technique “Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement” which shortens operation time and bleeding complications.

The “Smart Medical” Online Showcase focussed on enabling a connected and smart healthcare as this industry is the ideal field to expand the influence of AI analyses and modelling for better patient care.
